John Graham
February 1, 1930 - May 4, 2011
Dear Friends,
John Graham, a beloved member of the Fellowship of Friends, completed his task at home at 1:44 am on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. John celebrated his eighty-first birthday February 1st and his fortieth year in the school on April 1st.
John joined the School on April 1, 1971 in San Francisco and moved to Apollo in 1989. He generously shared his deep appreciation of movement and dance with many of us. His beautiful stentorian voice was heard in plays, presentations, and readings; adding to our love of Shakespeare and Walt Whitman. In the last years of his illness, he may well have shared the most important lesson – the acceptance and transformation of suffering.
On behalf of all who knew you, we thank thee.

Epitaph:
All the while, it is the present only.
Funeral Service Text: John Graham 2011-05
I announce the great individual, fluid as Nature, chaste, affectionate, compassionate, fully armed; I announce a life that shall be copious, vehement, spiritual, bold, And I announce an end that shall lightly and joyfully meet its translation.
Walt Whitman
“Every student has risen to presence in the face of death.
They cannot be surpassed.”
Love, Robert
In memory of your beautiful soul….
