Marie Gallagher

January 26,1954 - March 25, 2025

Dear friends,

Marie Gallagher, a beloved member of the Apollo Center of the Fellowship of Friends, completed her task on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, dying of pneumonia.

Marie was born on January 26, 1954, and joined the Fellowship in Dublin, Ireland on January 9, 1985. She was 71 years old on her last birthday. Students will remember her creativity, which she expressed through her Celtic jewelry designs, and her skill as a true gardener, who had the ability to make the earth blossom each year with the abundant array of flowers, shrubs and trees that adorned her home. Although her health was fragile, she took delight in serving at the Galleria when she was able.  She was the sister of John Gallagher.

She will be missed.

On behalf of all who knew you, we give thanks.

The flesh surrendered, cancelled,
The bodiless begun;
Two worlds, like audiences, disperse
And leave the soul alone.

    “We do not lose our friends. We only send them on ahead of us, so that we may live our lives with a sense of hopeful longing, until we are reunited in that silence where farewells are no more.”

  2. Marie, I will forever remember the many times you served with me at Robert‘s table. You were consistent, you loved the octave, and graced it with your presence. I also enjoyed your friendship, and I’m happy that we got to know each other through the octave. You will be missed.
